A Simplified View Of Ovulation Induction

Sep 12, 2017

This is the process of coaxing / stimulating the ovary to form follicles. These follicles should hopefully contain eggs. The drugs used for this are clomiphene or minimal doses of hormone injections (FSH or HMG). The ovarian response is monitored with serial transvaginal scans, until ovulation i.e. follicle rupture is confirmed. Ovulation induction with timed intercourse is often the first option. If this approach does not succeeded after a few cycles it is reasonable to discuss other treatments.
